Ferragamo x
Istituto Marangoni Milano

A collaboration project between Ferragamo menswear and  the Master's program at Istituto Marangoni Milano. The challenge was to develop one complete outfit reinterpreting the historic Gancini hardware across multiple forms of branding, from hardware to graphic and material applications, while staying true to the house's codes and heritage. The result balances innovation with brand continuity, translating an iconic archival element into a contemporary menswear proposal.

This project starts from an exploration of contrast; the tension between sharpness and softness. I was interested in how menswear can feel structured and precise, while still remaining fluid and immersive. The inspiration draws from the visual language of the 70s and 90s, not in a literal or nostalgic way, but through attitude and proportion. From the 70s, I took a sense of volume and space around the body. From the 90s, the idea of clean lines, restraint, and a more controlled silhouette. The collection moves between these two moments, creating a dialogue between openness and control.

This contrast is translated through materials and construction. Structured elements like leather, tailored wool, and sharp closures are softened by knitwear, jersey, brushed cottons, and elasticated details. The garments are designed to feel immersive, they wrap the body rather than sit rigidly on it, while still maintaining an architectural presence.

The color palette reinforces this idea of balance: off-whites, warm taupes, browns, and greys create a calm, grounded base, while metallic silver introduces precision and a subtle sense of tension. Volume and space consciousness are key throughout the collection, allowing the body to move freely within clearly defined forms.

The work is about redefining strength in menswear, not as rigidity, but as controlled softness, where elegance comes from simplicity, material contrast, and construction.
